We are excited to announce our 3v3 Fall season for players ages 5 through 11 starting September 7th! This 4-week season will be from September 7th to October  2nd. 3v3 soccer is a fun and fast-paced style of soccer that encourages creativity and confidence on the ball from the players. It is in our plans to start a 3v3 neighborhood-based league and this will allow the players to have a sense of a team-environment at the same time they have the freedom to learn the world’s game and improve their skills. The players will be split into teams according to their age group: 5 – 8 years old (born between 2012 and 2015) 9 – 11 years old (born between 2009 and 2011) We will follow all the U.S. Soccer “Play On” Grassroots Recommendations Guide, TSSA Return-to-play Guidelines, and Shelby County instructions. Published July 31, 2020 WEEKLY UPDATE WEEK 4 Our 3v3 Summer Season is over! Thank you to all the families, players, and supporters that were part of this season! Yesterday was the last practice of the Winter Season at Chandler, Treadwell, Binghampton, and Klondike Parks. For the last 4 weeks, the players learned the basics of soccer while respecting all the return-to-play guidelines and health and safety rules. We are thankful for having all the players and families in our program and we are proud of the amazing job done by our coaches. Play Where You Stay's mission is to change the face of U.S. soccer through grassroots, neighborhood-based play and we are glad we have exposed the players to soccer this 3v3 Summer Season. Published July 27, 2020   PWYS UPDATE Last chance to be part of the Midtown 08' Boys Team! We’re excited to announce that we are hosting tryouts for a new Midtown 08’ Boys team for players born in 2008 and 2009. Play Where You Stay is creating a future in which every child has a chance to grow up with the world’s game and we’re excited to expand these opportunities with another Midtown SC competitive team. With two boys teams for players born between 2002 and 2005, we felt the need to expand playing opportunities to a younger age group too. These tryouts will start on Monday, July 13th and will go until the end of the month. The tryouts will be today and next Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 6 PM at the Hamp Field (456 Tillman St, Memphis, TN 38112). Published on July 24, 2020 WEEKLY UPDATE WEEK 3 One more week until the end of the 3v3 Summer Season! This third week of 3v3 Summer play was very productive and all the players worked on more advanced 3v3 drills. "We started with an obstacle race as a warm-up. Then we moved to ‘Clockwise’ a dribbling activity and then moved to ‘King of the Hill’ a dribbling game. We finished with 3v3 gameplay with a team rotating on after each goal. It was great to see new players this week!", said Coach Ali at Klondike Park. We are excited to work with all the players for one more week at Binghampton, Chandler, Treadwell, and Klondike! Published July 17, 2020 WEEKLY UPDATE WEEK 2 It was great to see the improvement of the players from week 1 to week 2! This second week of 3v3 Summer play was great and our coaches saw improvement in passing and dribbling from last week to this week. The players at Chandler, Treadwell, Klondike, and Binghampton Parks worked hard on skills like passing and dribbling while using the six sides of the foot for the last two weeks. "We started with a warmup. Worked on calling the ball, simple passes, volleys with laces & inside of the foot. The players surprised me with that drill! They did great!", said coach Jessica about Tuesday's practice at Chandler Park. We are excited to see the improvement of the players for the next two weeks!
